How Important is Color Choice For Web Design

There are endless choices of color to be found for web design services. The fact is however that not all colors in nature translate well into a website. It may seem like a minor consideration but the truth of the matter is that an incorrect color choice can ruin and otherwise spectacular website. Below are a few of the most common mistakes made when picking colors for a website.

Light Background and Light Text – While most people feel that two light colors, or the opposite of two dark colors, will compliment each other nicely. This works in fashion, not in web design. Having background and font colors that are too similar to each other can be very hard on the visitors eyes and will result in high bounce rates.

Rainbows and Sparkles – Just because you are able to use every color under the sun doesn't mean that you should. So many companies are so focused on making their website stand out that it ends up looking like the colors were put together by a toddler that has had too much sugar. Try to stick to a small palette of three or four complimentary colors to keep the site looking interesting but not too overwhelming.

Too Clincal – In the opposite corner from the point again is the overly sparse site. Websites that are generally a solid color background such as white or light gray with black text. Going this route may seem safe but it actually translates to boring. Customers will figure if you couldn't take the time to develop your site you may have put the same lack of thought into your product or service.

The easiest way to ensure that you are making the right color choices for your website is to work with web design services. They will have staff that are trained in making sites look their best.
